Our neighborhood breakfast place. Food is great, service is great. You won't be disappointed!

Went for a late breakfast with a friend and we were not disappointed by our meal. It was a little busy in there on the day we went, but the service was still quick and friendly. I got the number three breakfast special which came with eggs, sausage home fries, and toast. And they had the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Really enjoyed the meal a lot and I've been back since to also try the patty melt, which is delicious! Dining im can be a little busy and even with call in orders sometimes it might be a wait but it's totally worth it and looking forward to dining here again to enjoy the patio when the weather is nicer out.

My kid and I had an early morning Dr. Appt and were completely famished when we left . I looked up the closet restaurant and it was Cafe On The Avenue. A very cute cafe with a fireplace who serves doughnuts pieces as a appetizers. I kept it simple with breakfast by getting the burrito. It's came with home fries and side of sour cream. The burrito was a sizable amount, though i had to add a lil extra seasoning.

I am visiting family and staying on hertel, It is conveniently located so my partner and I decided to give this cute cafe a shot and man I am just blown away. Quaint on the inside and a very mom and pop energy but the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The donuts are delicious, I have tried quite a few of the lunch and breakfast items as I have gone three days in a row and each time I am shocked at the consistency in service and quality. Truly a must enjoy cafe and a must try if you're in the area. Great prices as well-overall a great place to eat and kill some time. We never felt rushed and my only critique is I wish they had a larger social media prescence. We will be back again.

both the food and the service was incredible! I definitely recommend if you're looking for a classic diner breakfast

Total hidden gem on Hertel Ave! Cute little breakfast / lunch place. They have the best breakfast scrambles!

Cute little place on Hertel. Just went for breakfast a few times. Delicious and waitress was great.

Awesome place with great folks. Absolutely perfect for breakfast. Had a ball and my cup was always full. Thank You!

Stopped in this morning starving for a good home cooked meal. It's a holiday so most places were closed. This place was open and they were full but bustin their butts! The waitress, and only waitress, must be the owner? - was amazing! She was taking care of all the tables. Her daughter was hostessing. They were so friendly even though they were busy. The food was delicious. I had corned beef hash, over easy eggs, with toast and home fries. My boyfriend has the egg special. Both portions were generous but not too crazy. Just the right amount to stuff your face and clear your plate haha. We will definitely be back!!!!! :)

Open for breakfast, they have homemade donuts and sit-down or to-go meals. Nothing terribly fancy. Everything you would expect from a neighborhood cafe including coffee, of course. I came for lunch and had delicious bean soup and a very traditional turkey bacon club sandwich. Service is excellent. There's a nice warm fireplace if you go on a chilly day. Accessible on both metro bus #23 Hertel and #11 Colvin. This restaurant would be somewhat challenging in a wheelchair, but at least there's no stairs.
